Support for All Ages.

The Center for Counseling & Psychological Services (CCPS) is the outpatient division of WCMHS. CCPS staff are dedicated to working with adults and children, throughout their lifespan, whether in times of severe challenge or navigating the stressors of daily living. Services are provided to support people to help them thrive in their environment at home, work or socially. Whether individual, couples, families, or group support, our clinicians help people access the support needed using evidence-based clinical principles and excellence in training in all aspects of treatment related to client needs.

  • Adult Outpatient Services

    Adult Outpatient Services

    • Office-based psychotherapy in several locations
    • Treatment for people with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns in both group and individual settings.
    • LINking Community Supports (LINCS) is a program for the treatment of psychological trauma. Services are provided in community based and office settings
    • Psychiatric services available by physicians and nurse practitioner, as needed
    • Psychological services in local primary care practices such as the Plainfield Health Center
  • Child/Adolescent Psychotherapy Services

    Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Services

    • Office-based psychotherapy for individuals, families and child play therapy
    • School-based clinicians provide services in several area schools
    • Child and Family Trauma Treatment Program (CFTTP) 
  • LINCS Program

    Linking Community Supports (LINCS) Program is designed for adults, children, and families who have experienced psychological trauma and have challenges related to the effects of the trauma. Services are provided in the office and in the community and include community support services, service coordination, individual and group psychotherapy and psychiatry.

  • Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP)

    Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) co-locates WCMHS outpatient therapists in primary care practices associated with Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC), including a pediatric practice.  BHIP Therapists provide individual therapy and assist individuals engaged in therapy to access other supports through WCMHS outpatient services such as service coordination, groups, and other offerings.

    The Wellness Collaborative


    The Wellness Collaborative aims to raise the wellness and quality of life for clients who are dealing with times of severe challenges and stresses of daily living through a trauma-informed holistic approach to health, balance and recovery.   • Elder Treatment Services

    Elder Treatment Services

    WCMHS provides in-home psychological support for our growing older population in collaboration with Lamoille County Mental Health Services and the Clara Martine Center. With offices in Washington, Lamoille and Orange counties, WCMHS offers Elder Treatment Services to individuals referred by the Council on Aging as well as area community resources.   • Collaborative Systems Integration Project

    Collaborative Systems Integration Project


    Collaborative Systems Integration Project (CSIP) serves individuals involved with the criminal justice system. The Outreach Case Manager and Street Interventionist provide intensive community-based therapeutic case management services. The Street Interventionist works with local law enforcement and community-based organizations to provide assessment of needs and case management services for adults with the goal of crisis stabilization. The program includes the Re-entry home for clients returning to the community from corrections and collaboration with Treatment Court to facilitate access to treatment for those with co-occurring concerns.

  • Reach-Up Program

    Our Reach-Up Program is a collaboration between VT Economic Services Division (ESD) of DCF and WCMHS by serving participants struggling with mental health and/or substance use. Our participants must meet ESD requirements for Reach-Up financial assistance. We offer screening, clinical assessment, case management and service coordination to support clients at whatever stage they are at. We utilize harm reduction and trauma informed models to meet the needs of those served.

    For access to WCMHS services, you can also call (802) 229-0591 and ask to speak to one of our friendly Intake Coordinators. You will be asked what kind of services you are seeking and depending on your answer (children’s services, adult mental health services) you will be directed to the correct person. You may also be asked some routine questions and to schedule a brief interview to begin the process of accessing services. If you are not sure what services you are seeking, or what programs we offer, WCMHS will work with you to help you determine and access the services you may need.

Getting the help needed, whether for you, your child, a family member or friend, is just a phone call away. We're here to help, 24/7/365.

    When you call us and if in crisis, you'll be connected to a screener who will listen and help put you at ease. If your call is less urgent, we'll schedule you for an assessment and begin the intake process.

  3. We'll need to get some information.

    Conducting an assessment will help us better understand your needs so we can ensure you're connected with the services to best meet you where you're at.

  4. Get the support that meets your needs.

    Once we have an understanding of your needs, we'll provide a referral to appropriate level of care.

  5. Our wait times may be a bit longer...

    There's a lot of need within our community and wait times are longer than usual. But we have options that will help put you at ease until there are openings. We got you. Always.
